Congestion Reduction Officer

Brisbane City Council is the largest local authority in Australia and Brisbane is Australia's third largest city. Brisbane's economic growth and the lifestyle of its residents depend upon an efficient transport system.

The role of Congestion Reduction Officer is to be proactive in investigating and seeking solutions for whole traffic corridors, not just intersections. The Congestion Reduction unit in Council is responsible for investigating operation of key traffic routes, conducting site visits and analysing traffic data to determine the best designs to improve network performance.

The Congestion Officer will be an integral member of the unit providing support in research, investigation, delivery and data analysis. Can you see the bigger picture? The ability to appreciate how changes will affect whole suburbs as well as individual intersections is absolutely essential. Strategic thinking, an analytical mind and a good knowledge of Brisbane's road network will have you succeed in this position.

This role offers variety plus involving you in concept design. Additionally, you will be involved in monitoring the success of high profile Council projects.
