Council has a fantastic opportunity for experienced Environmental Health Officers to join our friendly team of Environmental Health professionals to provide high quality service to our community in ensuring that environmental health standards are maintained.
We are seeking pro-active, innovative and resourceful people who strive to be the best. Our positions are available in the operational Environmental Health teams within North, South, East, West and Central regions and the strategic Business Alignment team.
As an Environmental Health Officer you will be responsible for maintaining environmental health standards and provide technical and legislative advice to customers, team members, team leaders and managers in respect to all relevant program areas.
An undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification in environmental health is a requirement as is eligibility for full membership with Environmental Health Australia.
A number of positions are currently available within the Environmental Health team including Environmental Health Officers (Band 4 to Band 5), with a generous salary range of $48,867 to $62,209 commensurate with your level of experience, and 2 Senior Environmental Health Officer (Band 6) positions, offering a salary range of $64,618 to $71,851 commensurate with your level of experience.

Library and Information Services Traineeship Garden City
Council is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join its Garden City Library.
Team in the position of Library Trainee (Certificate III Library and Information Services).
Council traineeships fall under the Queensland Government First Start Program which primarily targets school leavers, unemployed and disadvantaged Queensland job seekers over 15 years of age.
Skills/Qualifications: Applicants must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to learn, follow direction and show initiative and responsibility
- A minimum education standard (Year 10 level) in English and mathematics, however, successful applicants normally have completed year 12
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Sound interpersonal and oral communication
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with customers
- Computer skills
- Good time management skills
- Be self motivated
- Prior to employment you will be required to undertake a pre-placement medical
The trainee will undertake a wide range of tasks including:
- customer service
- manage library stock which includes pushing trolleys and lifting
- develop displays and promotions
- shelving of books
Salary: Based on the Training Wage Award
